Who can qualify for home health care services?
Medicare and private insurance cover a person while meeting the homebound status requirement. A homebound patient is someone confined to a place of residence due to an illness or injury, or it is taxing on the patient to go places. They require assistance when leaving the home. To qualify for home health services, a homebound patient must demonstrate a need for skilled nursing or rehabilitative therapy services.
Medicaid or title 19 patients do not need to satisfy the homebound status requirement. They are able to leave their homes and/or drive themselves as well! There are various programs under Medicaid including waiver programs, nursing and aide visits, homemakers, respite care, consumer directed attendant care, and therapies.
Home Sweet Home Care is Medicare and Medicaid Certified. HSHC is also approved for the Senior Living Program and various waiver programs. For questions on how to apply for programs or to discuss patient needs and payment sources, the Assistant Administrator may be reached at both offices. Self pay is also accepted.
Home Sweet Home Care can assist patients in several counties in western and southwest Iowa.
